SENDING SMILES - STAMPIN' UP! ARTISAN BLOG HOP

Welcome back to another Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop.  Can you believe we are in the middle of February already?!  This year is already flying by, so I guess it is only appropriate that the Lift Me Up stamp set is our feature this month.  You have probably just arrived from seeing Miriam van Eyden's amazing projects, such a hard act to follow!

I adore the olde world look of these gorgeous images.  I can just imagine ladies and gentleman from a bygone era, lining up to take a flight over farmland.  I imagined how the sky would look filled with these balloons and that was the inspiration for this card.

To create this card I first stamped some cloud images and a small balloon on a post-it-note and fussy cut them out before adhering them to Shimmery White card.  I brayered Tempting Turquoise ink starting at the top and letting the ink run out as I headed toward the bottom.  Removing the post-it's, I then stamped my clouds on the card where they had been.  I added other stamped clouds, which I die cut using the coordinating Up & Away Thinlits, and popped them up on dimensionals.

I used my Stampin Write Markers to ink up the balloon images on my stamp.  I love using the direct to rubber technique as it allows multiple colours on one image.

There are a lot of layers on this card, one of which is Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration catalogue called Carried Away.  This DSP pack coordinates beautifully with the Lift Me Up Bundle and is FREE with a $110NZD product purchase.

I have also changed the orientation of the sentiment stamp.  It is actually a square stamp, but I wanted it to stretch across my card.  So once again, I used the direct to rubber technique and my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line the words up side by side.  I have also carried the same artwork over to the inside of my card and used it again on the flap of my envelope.

Up next to is my good friend Rochelle Blok who will just WOW you with her project!
